Villa Padierna impresses from the very first moment and the atmosphere of grandeur and opulence is only reinforced with every step into the heart of this visually appealing building. It’s no surprise to learn that, when America’s First Lady, Michelle Obama visited the Costa del Sol with her daughter, Sasha in 2010, Villa Padierna was the place that they elected to stay. Where else would seem an appropriate base for the family of the world’s most powerful man?

This magnificent hotel evokes an air of permanence and history, yet it was built relatively recently. Great care was taken to ensure that the design and construction process reflected the excellence of Italian building traditions and this has resulted in a truly memorabl e structure that incorporates style and comfort in one definitively five-star package.

Fine dining is one of the many areas in which Villa Padierna excels and it incorporates no less than five superb restaurants and bars. La Veranda represents the very best of Spanish cuisine and is presided over by Executive Chef, Victor Taborda who trained under some of the country’s best chefs, including Basque master, Martin Berasateguí. Apart from the creative formality of La Veranda, Villa Padierna also houses La Loggia, poolside haven La Pérgola, sophisticated cocktail lounge Eddy’s Bar and – in the hotel’s Beach Club which is served by a regular shuttle service – its eponymous restaurant.
The building also incorporates the 2,000m2 ESPA Thermae Spa, which helped Villa Padierna to be voted Best Spa Hotel in Spain in 2010 by Spa World Magazine. Guests and visitors can enjoy a huge selection of treatments in one of the many private rooms and the facilities include steam rooms, saunas, cold water plunge pool, relaxation pool and a huge indoor swimming pool with massage jets.
Outside the atmosphere of luxurious relaxation continues, with an outdoor area that is a replica of Iran’s famous Bagh-e-Fin gardens and the world class Los Flamingos Golf Club with its 18-hole course on the doorstep.

Now owned by Ritz-Carlton and officially known as Villa Padierna Palace Hotel, this extraordinary hotel has rightly gained a global reputation.
