Without fail – every season produces "the next big thing". A brand new shape or style is launched upon the industry and eventually finds its way, albeit in a diluted form, into the shops. Trends are generally influenced by world events, taking into account economic factors, taste and lifestyle choices - matching the consumer mood.

Based on the predictions of professional trend forecasters, international shows such as the DECOTEC interior design and furniture exhibition can provide an insight into what we’ll all be buying next season. Of course, not all trends are embraced outright. The more outlandish ones will be consigned to the annals of history, but there will always be a trickle-down effect into the collective consciousness.
